SPECIAL OFFERS FOR SPECIAL PEOPLE!
Style Jive are offering its regular customers the chance to get in for free for one week if they introduce someone new to dance on a Monday night at the Ukranian Club Huddersfield or on a Wednesday night at Holmfirth Civic Hall . Their guest will get in for half price the week after (ie. £3).
In addition on a Monday night those people who attend the beginner’s class will be entered into a prize draw to win a free pass for the following week.
Just a quick reminder that Holmfirth Civic Hall will be shut for the next two weeks for Art Week. I am hoping that this will be the last closure for this year and we will have no further interruptions. We will be back on the 14th July with teats to make up for the disruption.
Also don't forget due to the World Cup our Sunday Freestyle (now named Curly Wurly Sunday) will now take place on the 18th July (Tickets cost £5 adv/£6 on door). Facebookers can confirm via RSVP to receive their discount or tickets can be purchased at either venue. In addition we are recognising that many of you are travelling from quite a distance so if you can fill a car and email/face book/phone in advance with numbers (4+) we will be happy to negotiate a discount on the price (please note we can only do this on advance sales and will not give discount on the night),

- Our popular freestyle of Blues/Smooth/Soul and chilled. Guarenteed to get you off to work on Monday with a smile on your face. The music is not too slow and definitely not too fast - but very interesting!

Modern Jive is a fun way to learn partnered dance, and meet new people. No previous dance experience is needed, and all ages are welcome, with or without a partner.
Come along and experience a relaxed, social environment, with great music, friendly staff, 2 dance rooms, a fully licensed bar, and a surprisingly different night out!
You don't have to be an experienced dancer, just come along and give it a try - what have you got to lose?

Our classes run on a Monday evening from 7.30 onwards until 10.30. This includes a beginner lesson of 30 - 40 minutes where we go through 3 basic moves (there are 20 in total to learn so it is easy to learn).
This is followed by "freestyle" where dancers can practice moves they have learnt and dance with others, have a natter, and socialise. At 9.00, we start an intermediate lesson, building on the beginner routine with more challenging variations. This lesson will focus upon stlye in addition to technique. This lasts for 30 minutes.
We then finish off with more freestyle until 10.30. The evening costs £5 entry (£4 concession) and includes both lessons. We also have dancers who will guide complete beginners through basic moves on a one to one basis.
At Style Jive, we incorporate modern jive moves but try to add a blues and swing feel to the dance.
